Welcoming Michigan Film, "Journeys" to Screen throughout Van Buren County

We are pleased to announce our upcoming screenings of our short documentary, "Journeys: Stories from Van Buren." The film highlights the diverse ways residents have come to live in SW Michigan. Through interviews with local residents, the film shows how we all have a connection to migration or immigration, we all come from somewhere. The film also highlights why it is important to be welcoming to all. Welcoming Michigan staff and local Van Buren County leaders will facilitate discussions following each film screening to foster dialogue and connections among community members around a shared history of migration and immigration.

Additional screenings will be scheduled through the winter and spring at various locations in Van Buren County. Please visit the Welcoming Michigan calendar of events on the Get Involved page to see these additions screening as they are scheduled. If you are interested in scheduling a screening and discussion at your church, school, or organization, please contact West Michigan Communities Coordinator, Lillie Wolff (lwolff@lsscm.org).
